We officially launched the Church Plant!  On February 14, 2010 we had a special dedication and prayer, and we were then “Sent Out” from Chilliwack Alliance Church symbolic of our being sent to impact the community of Chilliwack.  We launched with 3 House Church groups, and approximately 40 people.

What is it that is driving this Church Plant?  Since 2008 our pastoral team and Board of Elders have worked in conjunction towards a proposed church plant.  We jointly recognized the amount of churches within Chilliwack, but also the limited amount of people who regularly attend a church.  In addition, it is hard to ignore the downward trend of attendance in churches throughout North America, while “spirituality” seems to be spiking.  Those are only a couple of the difficult stats the Church is currently faced with. 

From the outset, the mandate from the Board of Elders was clear.  This church plant was to be different.  It was to be intentionally unlike the other churches in town, and specific in its aim to impact the world we live in that is thus far untouched by the Church.

Our desire is that through this page you will find the resources necessary to understand what is driving this church plant, as well as critical information as we move forward.  Feel free to also visit the church plant website:  www.chilliwackhousechurches.com

Let me be clear about one thing.  This church plant is not competing with other churches for the Christian church goer.  This church plant is meant to add to the work being currently being done in Chilliwack by Chilliwack Alliance Church and other churches.  It is also not a reaction to the ministry already taking place within Chilliwack.  It is the expressed desire of myself and the church plant team to applaud the work that has been done and to begin to expand our influence into new areas.  I firmly believe we are all co-labourers with different fields to harvest.
